Montec Ship Management has been made aware of episodes where seafarers, with no involvement with our company, have experienced fraudulent behaviour by unknown individuals falsely claiming to represent Montec Crew Management SIA.

These individuals have been contacting seafarers and offering employment on various vessels while requesting payments of EUR 300–400 for flag state medical certificates as part of the scam.

It is important to stress that Montec is not involved whatsoever in these unfortunate events and operates in full compliance with Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) regulations. Montec would never charge seafarers for employment and does not support or request medical examinations through third parties.

In addition, Montec would never ask for any payments made directly to individual employees.

Montec is now in dialogue with the Latvian Maritime Administration and the police to support that this fraudulent campaign is brought to an end as soon as possible.
